About the GEDC

The GEDC (Garner Economic Development Corporation) is an economic development non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life of all Garner residents through business recruitment, supporting entrepreneurship and the retention of existing employers. The GEDC is led by a seven-member board of directors. The board advises the Town Council and works with local leaders to promote and further the Town of Garner's economic development interests.

Previous Accomplishments

The GEDC's previous work has included redevelopment of the Garner Technology Center site, which is now home to a 2.6-million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center that opened in 2020. The redevelopment project won a 2018 Space Award from the Triangle Business Journal in the category of Economic Development-Expansion.
