Transformative Project Slated for Garner

GARNER, NC – A 225-acre site at Hwy 70 and White Oak Road in Garner, North Carolina, located just seven miles from the center of Raleigh, is slated to become a transformative mixed-use destination called E District. Wycliff Development, led by North Carolina real estate developer Grady Matthews, will serve as the master developer for the project in partnership with the Yeargan Family, the landowner.

The E District will benefit from its proximity to Research Triangle Park as well as the many medical, technical, biomedical and life sciences companies seeking to expand in the area. The site is also near two top-tier medical schools (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University) and a leading engineering school (North Carolina State University). E District is located just off the Highway 70 exit from Interstate 40 on the southwest corner of Highway 70 and White Oak Road. The infill development will ultimately be surrounded by four, four-landed thoroughfares.

Wycliff Development will incorporate timeless components of great communities — a mix of uses, walkability, programming and green space — while also creating something wholly unique. Wycliff Development is in the process of forming best-in-class partnerships, with investors, developers and consultants who have track records of success in mixed-use development. Local architecture firm O’Brien Atkins Associates (OBA) has been hired as the master land planner.

“This is a rare opportunity to develop one of the last remaining sites of its size and significance in one of the hottest real estate markets in the country,” said Matthews. “We are currently in the exploratory phase and carefully evaluating the highest and best uses that will add value to Wake County. We have begun conversations with the Town of Garner and are committed to bringing a high-quality mixed-use district to the region that celebrates wellness, innovation and connection.”

“We are excited about this amazing opportunity to bring a unique mixed-use development to our community,” said Joe Stallings Economic Development Director. “This project will not only bring new investment and jobs, it will also help elevate Garner in the region as a world class place to live, work, and play.”
